Edward Vanderspar
Edward Vanderspar is Principal Viola of the London Symphony Orchestra and also enjoys a busy career as a chamber musician and soloist. He has a wide concerto repertoire, and has given performances and solo recitals all over the world.
He is also a frequent guest principal Viola with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, World Orchestra for Peace, London Chamber Orchestra and London Sinfonietta.
Edward is in great demand as a teacher, and he has given Master Classes at The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Heidelberg University, the Hochschule Karlsruhe and Beijing Conservatoire. He studied in London with Nannie Jamieson and Helen Dowling and in Switzerland with Max Rostal and Rudolf Barshai.
Having received invitations to be on the Jury of several international competitions, Edward is delighted to have been on the jury for the 2017 Windsor Festival International String Competition.
