Nigel Hutchison

WFISC Official Pianist

Nigel Hutchison has performed internationally as both a solo artist and chamber musician. Since his successful Wigmore Hall debut he has performed throughout Europe, the USA and the Far East. He has appeared with most of the UK orchestras in major venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. His recording of Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals” with the London Symphony Orchestra was named as a choice recording of the year by Gramophone magazine.

As a chamber musician, Nigel has enjoyed performing with a number of distinguished artists such as Robert Cohen, Leonid Gorokhov, Grigori Zhislin, Radoslaw Szulc, Ara Malikian and Daniel Hope. He has been invited to be an official pianist at many prestigious international competitions including the Menuhin Competition, the Britten Competition and the All China International Violin Competition held in Qingdao, China.

For many years, he was pianist for the masterclasses of Yfrah Neaman, and is presently an accompanist and coach at the Yehudi Menuhin School.

We are delighted he has been an official WFISC pianist since 2015.
