Sofia Demetriades

Award-winning violinist Sofia studies with So-Ock Kim and will start as an undergraduate full scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, London, this September. Her achievements include prizes at the Bromsgrove Young Musician and Haslemere International String Competition (UK), Piccolo and Postacchini (Italy), Lipinski-Wieniawski (Poland) and the “Nutcracker” (Russia). Sofia has performed as a soloist across the UK, Europe and Canada, and drawn inspiration from masterclasses at IMS Prussia Cove and Kronberg Academy. She is supported by the Hattori, Wilhelmsen, Drake Calleja, Albert Cooper, and Beare’s Charitable Trusts. She plays a Vuillaume violin from the Beare’s Cultural Trust through a generous patron.
