Sophia Werner studies at the Juilliard School with Laurie Smukler and Donald Weilerstein as a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship. Sophia has soloed with orchestras including the Juilliard Orchestra, Mid-Atlantic Symphony and Adelphi Orchestra, and has won competitions including the Elizabeth Loker International Competition, Juilliard Concerto Competition and the St. Paul String Quartet Competition. Sophia is a founding member of the Karuna Quartet and has attended festivals including the Perlman Music Program CMW, Olympic Chamber Music Festival and Kneisel Hall. She also participated in the 2025 Verbier Festival Academy soloist program. Sophia performs on a J. B. Vuillaume violin and James Tubbs bow, on loan to her from Juilliard.
